I have served as a Minister of Education in several churches over the past 20 years.
Each church sees this position a little differently so in each church my work was a little different.
This page will identify some of the skills and strengths I have in this field.
Small Group Ministry
I believe that small groups can the key to growth
if they are formed, lead and encouraged in the local church. In both North Carolina and Ohio I worked at the
Associational Discipleship Training Director. In the 80's and early 90's small groups were not all that popular
but I believe they are one of the keys to discipling Christians.
Leadership Training
Training teachers and leaders does not just happen it is a learned experience.
Over the years I have taught multiple conferences and classes on training teachers. A partial list
is presented below
- Jesus on Leadership - State Conference as local Church setting
- Grow Ohio - State Sunday School Teacher training seminars. Lead in multiple associations
- West Virgina - Sunday Sunday School Growth Conference in White Springs, W VA.
- Youth Leadership Conferences - North Carolina Statewide conferences Discipleship Training Dept
- New Teacher Training - Church Conference in Alabama
Bible Teaching
Of all the activities a Minister of Education performs
in a church the one I most enjoy is teaching the Bible. I would teach a sunday school class each week if it were possible.
