In the past few months my life has taken some unexpected twists and turns.
It has been a difficult time for me but also on you, my family. As I recovered from surgery
I faced days of depression and loneliness but after a few months a new spark of energy emerged
and the following is the result.
I have always tried to be the best son, brother, husband and father I could be but realized
I could never meet the standard I have set for myself. Instead of focusing on all the ways I
have failed or somehow let you down I wanted to share with you some of the things that you can
do make your life and if possible your children's life more exciting and meaningful.
The chapters are based on the experiences you have shared with me over the last 50 years.
At the time they were probably just experiences but now as look at 50 years of experiences and
think about the lives you have in front of you, I wanted to define these moments in a way that
give you the best fatherly advice I can give.
I hope you enjoy this effort and whenever possible can use this advice with your kids and
other folks around your.
This is my way of letting you know how much I love you and deeply I care for each of you.
For the Grandkids that don't yet exist. I want you to know that even though I haven't seen you
yet I have loved you since the day your parents were born; more about this later. This is for
you as well.
